[daip] AIPS under Fedora Core and g77/gcc 3.4.4

Dear  Eric

Just about to be forcibly upgraded to Fedora Core from RH9. Two questions:
- Are you aware of any problems with this flavour of Linux? [We have a couple of
AIPS machines running FC, so far with no reported trouble.]
- Is there any further update on gcc/g77 3.4.4. This appears to be the default
compiler version on our FC systems. From your web page, I'm hopeful.
