[daip] problem with latest version of CCEDT

Hi Eric et al.,

I've discovered a problem with the 31DEC05 version of CCEDT. I last ran 
the midnight job here a few weeks ago. The task just hangs when you run 
it on some image files.  The 31DEC04 version of CCEDT, compiled on the 
same machine, works just fine on the same image. You can download the
