[daip] TABED ST

Eric - having multiple problems with TABED.  Don't know if any of this 
looks familiar.  Every once in a while, I get things to work, don't 
remember exact combination of parameters.

Let's start with a ST file created with STARS (I have other problems 
getting this read in, but ignoring that for now). See attached, column 
6, all equal to 1.  If I run TABED to change these all to 4, it tells me 
that xxx (598 in this case) lines selected, ends successfully, but 
nothing is actually changed.  Doesn't matter if I set inve and/or outve 
to 0, or to 8, etc., set bcount, ecount explicitly or leave at zero.  If 
I ask it to create a new version, it doesn't, so the problem seems to be 
that no writing is actually getting done. Then, every once in a while, 
something works.   any advice welcome.  thanks.
