[daip] Intel compiler

Hi Martin,

In a sense, the Intel compiler is officially supported. The reason it
is not mentioned on the website under compiling AIPS is that we are not
expecting people to go out and buy it but we are supplying binary
versions of AIPS compiled with the intel compiler. So the easiest thing
for you to do is to just download the binary version. Installing the
binary version is now the recommended way to get AIPS, it is easy and is
a bit faster then a compilation install. The only drawback is that you
are not able to adjust things like the APSIZE.

However if you really want to compile it yourself, go ahead and try,
since you are on a midnight job, you should have the versions of
FDEFAULT.SH, CCOPTS.SH and LDOPTS.SH that you need to get this to work.
You should check though, they are in 31DEC05/LINUX/SYSTEM. There may be
gotchas that I don't know about and Eric is out of communication until
the 27th so you may want to wait, or just download the binary version.

Cheers,

Amy
