[daip] message server problems

Hi Eric. Success! It was all very baffling. From what I found on the web 
it seems that the relevant commands should go in my .tcshrc file as this 
is always read by a shell, whether it's interactive or not. What I did was 
to source my .login file from my .tcshrc file, but this didn't make any 
difference. Looking more closely at my .tcshrc file though, there is some 
commented text that warns that below a certain point in the file it is not 
read by non-interactive shells. I put the 'source .login' command above 
this and hey presto, things now work.

Thanks for your help and sorry for bothering you for what wasn't an aips 
problem.
