Take this problem to Pat Murphy.

I suspect that your machine does not recognize itself as torgo but
would insist on calling itself torgo.local which aips cannot handle.

You may need to define your laptop as a laptop.

To do this

edit $AIPS_ROOT files LOGIN.SH, LOGIN.CSH and HOSTS.LIST.  The former
to change LAPTOP to yYES and the latter to add LOCALHOST as an aips
machine.
Then edit $AIPS_ROOT/DA00 files DADEVS.LIST and NETSP to add
LOCALHOST_n data areas matching the one(s) you already have.

Then in that area 

ln -s TORGO LOCALHOST
and wherever you have defined the data areas make link files named
LOCALHOST_n to the current files TORGO_n.
