The LDOPTS.SH file in $SYSLOCAL is causing you to use the wrong linker
It is controlled by the LINK line in the file ~/.AIPSRC.

But you should be using the Mac binary installation instead.

Do

perl insall.pl -n

and you will get the load modules from us prepared with the IBM
compiler.  They will execute 50% faster than the gnu compiler modules
and the *&$#* restFP/saveFP business will be but a bad memory.
