[daip] AIPS installation

Sir,

I have been trying to install AIPS on my mac (OS X
10.3.8), and am running into some problems. The build
process breaks in INSTEP4, during the linking phase:

/usr/bin/ld: Undefined symbols:
restFP
saveFP
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
LINK      : Status from /sw/bin/g77 is 1
LINK      : Link of   
/Users/Sanch/Academic/Softwares/aips/31DEC04/MACPPC/PREP/POPSGN.o
LINK      : dies from wimpy compiler

Strangely, although I specified the bundled g77 to be
used for Fortran compilation and linking (from
/usr/local/bin), the link process was using
/sw/bin/g77. [A document I read online suggested using
the bundled gcc with aips for mac pcs, rather than
using the fink installed one].

I am attaching the INSTEP4.log log file with this
mail. I am using the 4.3 version of the GNU readline
library, downloaded from the GNU ftp site and built on
this machine.
