This is not too serious:
1. When aips programs start they look through the list of disks in
$AIPS_ROOT/DA00/DADEVS.LIST for data directories whose names contain
the name of the computer. (This is to allow many computers to share
an installation without sharing the data disk areas.) The error you
got says that either there is no data area listed with the name of
your computer in it or that the data area listed does not contain a
writable 0-byte file names SPACE.
So fix this problem and then
2. cd $AIPS_ROOT
source LOGIN.CSH (or . LOGIN.SH for bash)
RUN FILAIP
35 -100
6 2
35
RUN POPSGN
0 POPSDAT TST
mc
And you should be ready to go.
