I've tried XGAUS with my data and it works, at least it does not die.
I found the following message at your output.

This message can help to understand the problem.
Unfortunately I do not understand it right now. Do you?
Can you send me the header of your image cube?
Can you create (using task SUBIM) the smaller cube of your data and then
run XGAUS?
