Hi Eric,

You're right, the  -D_FILE_OFFSET_BITS=64  is not there.
Very strange.  It is indeed in the CCOPTS.SH file:

COMP="$COMP -D_FILE_OFFSET_BITS=64"

I did a complete re-install and it should have used
the new CCOPTS.SH file.

Anyways, it's clear that the problem is the absence
of this flag from the compiler command.  I will
look further into this and perhaps try another fresh
reinstall.
