NOTE ABOVE - there is no 64-bit file thing in the compile of the C
routine.

Did you re-install not replace stuff?

Look in $SYSLOCAL/CCOPTS.SH - is that a new file or not?

The  -D_FILE_OFFSET_BITS=64  is not there.
