[daip] AIPS & gcc compiler woes

     Yopu could try it - the bug we found that is reported fixed was
the only trouble we hit.  DDT and Y2K were fine - just fitting
software e.g. IMEAN and IMFIT failed.

We do not have enterprise systems as yet.
