Question - why are you installing 31DEC03?  That is by now an obsolete
version.


Your problem is in the CCOMOPT option in your ~/.AIPSRC file.  My copy
shows

CCOM = /usr/local/compilers/9/gcc_3.2.3/bin/gcc
CCOMOPT = -c -O3 -fomit-frame-pointer -funroll-loops -I/home/primate2/AIPS/31DEC05/INC -D_FILE_OFFSET_BITS=64 -DHAVE_LINUX_GLIBC


yours seems to have the CCOM as the CCOMOPT as well as the CCOM.

Change this in ~~/.AIPSRC and fix the file $SYSLOCAL/CCOMOPT.SH
