[daip] aips zerrors for a particular user number

hello.  our aips users here have today experienced an unusual problem:
one (and only one, as far as they've seen) user sees zerrors upon starting
the program and entering his aips number.  he is subsequently left with a
"dead" session and cannot execute any tasks or see any of his data (which
is still visible in unix, so i presume it's still there).  the error
messages he sees look like this:

have you seen this sort of problem before?  would you kindly have any
suggestions on what i might do to help them out?
