[daip] problem in aips

First a question: why the 31DEC03 version?  It is so obsolete we
normally block your ability even to download it.  The 31DEC04 version
is frozen since 1 January 2005 and most people take the development
release (31DEC05) instead.

It is clear to me that you have not read the CookBook.  Please do so -
at least the first 3 very basic chapters.  Chapter 4 and 5 are for
reading in and calibrating and imaging UV data.  Chapter 6 is for
reading in and displaying images.  AIPS does not process FITS files
directly - a program must be run from inside AIPS to translate the
FITS file into the internal format.
