[daip] ZTXMAT ERROR ??

hello.  we are using classic aips (31DEC02) here at haverford.  i have a
particular user who sees such error messages any time she attempts to run
the most innocuous of commands in aips:

>inp
AIPS 1: ZDIR: COULD NOT TRANSLATE LOGICAL =
AIPS 1: ZDIR:
AIPS 1: ZTXMAT ERROR =      2

and yet for all other users, everything continues to run completely as
normal.  have you seen such behavior before?  is there some simple trick
or other that i might use to make it go away?
