Hi all,
The explain file for TECOR gives the path to cddisa, which is no
longer maintained, and caused me problems in getting the proper
ionosphere files while I was in CV last week. I think that Lorant's
inquiries resulted in the following message. Is is possible to change
the TECOR help file to the new path, so others don't get messed up?
I fear that this tells me either (a) I'm out of touch or (b) none of our
VLBI users is really doing ionosphere corrections or (c) nobody is
actually reducing their relatively recent VLBA data.
Thanks,
Jim

Dear IVS users,
The CDDISA server of the IVS Data Center at CDDIS is scheduled for being
decommissioned by September 2005. This will affect both the 'vlbigeo' area
of CDDISA and the Data Center area.
A new server will be made available under the name CDDIS. Work is currently
underway to do the migration from CDDISA to CDDIS. This migration has
already been done for SLR, GPS, and DORIS data holdings which are currently
available on CDDIS.
The effect on the users depends on which area you are using:
(1) CDDISA Data Center users: The only difference will be to change the name
of the server from CDDISA to CDDIS. The touch and feel should remain the
same. In fact the new CDDIS server is now mirroring the VLBI area of CDDISA,
so the new server is available for VLBI data.
(2) 'vlbigeo' users: The use of this special area will be discontinued.
The only accessible area for submission and retrieval of data will be the
Data Center area. E.g., schedule files and station log files are to be
submitted to the ivsincoming area of one of the three primary IVS Data
Centers. A description of the procedure is given at
http://ivscc.gsfc.nasa.gov/products/data/submit-data.html.
Please observe that the web page still has the name CDDISA which will be
replaced by CDDIS on the day the change occurs.
After completion of the migration work and the switch from CDDISA to CDDIS
imminent, it is likely that the Data Center will not be available for a day
or two. We will keep the user community informed and give advance notice
when this is going to happen. As always, the other two primary IVS Data
Centers will continue to be available to serve our needs. We anticipate that
the switch to CDDIS will occur about mid-May.
We apologize for the inconvenience this migration might cause.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or problems
about the new server or the migration process.
Best regards,
Dirk Behrend
IVS Coordinating Center
