  Eric-

Yes, I should have known to initiate 'setenv'
in the same window. But, its been quite a while
since I have used FITTP, so I forgot about this
  procedure.

I was just talking to our Unix/Linux system folks
and we are trying to determine if there are any tests
of AIPS on the Linux server we can do before my new
Dell Linux PC client arrives (probably in about two weeks.)
They will probably be done installing AIPS today on
the Linux server. Is it best to wait until my client arrives
to try to do any AIPS tests, or is there something we
could do in the way of preliminary tests before the
client gets hooked up to the server?

We have a couple of other folks here who also use AIPS
and will probably be moving off of Sun Solaris onto
Dell Linux PCs soon , so I guess I get to be the guinea
  pig for our site.

  regards,
  Steve Skinner
