AIPS is available for free and runs on a Linux or Mac OSX environment.
Go to our web site

http://www.aoc.nrao.edu/aips

and start reading.  You will want to fetch 31DEC03 probably (54 Mbytes)
and install it following the instructions on the use of install.pl.
