There is an AIPS Manager FAQ on the web site.  The built in password
for user 1 (which has special privileges) is AMANAGER.  You can change
this if you want (verb PASSWORD).  You can use any number you please
other than 1 - our users here use NRAO assigned numbers when they are
on public machines but tend to use more than one number when they are
on their own workstations.  The AIPS file system for user data is flat
(other than disk number) so this lets the users separate projects.
