Hello Eric -
I want to first thank you again for all the help you gave me back in January
getting AIPS up and running.
Göran has actually gotten around to *using* AIPS lately <grin>, but is
experiencing some problems with TV.
BTW if you're not the person to deal with this case please feel free to pass
me along to who ever needs to get the assignment.
The system is a Sun Ultra5 running Solaris 8. I'll give you the basic
symtoms and please prompt me for more info;
Göran runs 'aips' (his ~/.cshrc is set to source $AIPS_ROOT/LOGIN.CSH)
Printer is selected (and works)
MSGSERV, TEKSERV and AIPS TV all load
He enters userid
Enters in his data set
AIPS TV then loads the data image(s) and TV menus, the problem is that most
of the menus don't seem to work so TV ends up been only partialy functional.
When "EXIT" is selected from the on-screen TV menu, AIPS then wedges and the
process has to be killed in order for AIPS to quit.
When initially building and setting up AIPS this entry was made in
/etc/system to allow large shared memory for 24bit AIPS TV display;
set shmsys:shminfo_shmmax=8388608
The Xserver on this system *is* running at 24bit.
Thanks in advance!
