[daip] AIPS ?: Solaris 8 or 9

Hello,
I am about to take the big step of installing aips for the first 
time.  I have been given a choice of solaris 8 or 9.  Which is more 
aips friendly? Do any of the experts there have a justifiable 
preference? These are Ultra Sparc 5's, but I'm not sure about any of 
the  interior parts.
