Hi,
I'm still having a problem using AIPS on a large disk drive (see below).
Have you ever seen this bug, and can you help me to fix it?

Subject: problem with big disks
When running FRING in AIPS version 31DEC01,
I am getting the following error message:
florea> FRING1: ZCREA2: BYTES OVERFLOW ? = -1691384832
florea> FRING1: INSUFFICIENT SPACE ON DISK 3 FOR FILE DA03:SCD007001.1PM;
florea> FRING1: REQUESTED SIZE OF 2542561 BLOCKS FROM ZCREAT
florea> FRING1: SCREAT: NO ROOM ON 3 FOR SCRATCH SIZE 2542561 KILOBYTES
florea> FRING1: SCREAT: FAILED TO CREATE REQUESTED SCRATCH FILE
florea> FRING1: CALCOP: ERROR 5 CREATING SCRATCH FILE
However, here is plenty of room (150 Gb) on Disk 3 as you can see below:
>freespac
AIPS 1: Disk Volume name Total Full Free Timd Access
AIPS 1: # blocks % blocks days
AIPS 1: 1 </aips/DATA/FLOREANA_1 12851947 68 4119829 365.0 Alluser
AIPS 1: 2 </aips/DATA/FLOREANA_2 14705826 82 2656214 365.0 Alluser
AIPS 1: 3 <ogs/aips/DATA/SENSE_2176893424 13152515408 365.0 Alluser
AIPS seems to be having trouble coping with this very large disk.
Can you tell me how to work around this problem?
Thanks,
Josh
