As long as I have been doing VLBA data reduction, you have
_always_ had to concatenate vlba_gains to the VLBA Tsys files.
This was even before automatic cal transfer.

As for MERGCAL/VLBAMCAL, you have _always_ had to do this after
loading VLBA data from more than one file, if it had calibration
transfer.
