It ought to be easy enough, but I am unaware of any attempt to do it.
I am excessively busy until after September and, if NRAO owns such a
machine, it has not been made available to me.

We found that f2c produced pretty slow code (C does not optimize well
while Fortran does) and the latest gcc versions (3.0.1-3.0.4) are not
acceptable either although 2.95.3 is very good.  (See our web home
