Dear Eric,

Here is what I did after following the instructions that appeared on the
screen. I realise that I typed a wrong AIPS directory in my previous mail.
It is acrually /usr/local/AIPS/ (instead of /home/ramach/AIPS)

- In the directory /usr/local/AIPS/31DEC02/LINUX/INSTALL/
I did "grep -v ^- *.LIS", and found:

       YPGNOT.LIS:/usr/local/AIPS/31DEC02/Y/PGM/NOTST/PLOTR.FOR

- Then, in the file INSTEP4.LOG, I found no particular bad sign, until the
end of the file, where it says:

  LINK : to /usr/local/AIPS//31DEC02/LINUX/LOAD/WIPER.EXE
  LINK : Delete /usr/local/AIPS//31DEC02/LINUX/PREP/WIPER.o
  LINK : Link of /usr/local/AIPS//31DEC02/LINUX/PREP/WIPER.o
  LINK : ends successfully.
  COMLNK : Deleted /usr/local/AIPS//31DEC02/LINUX/PREP/WIPER.f
  COMLNK : Changed /usr/local/AIPS//31DEC02/Y/PGM/NOTST/WIPER.FOR
  COMLNK : in /usr/local/AIPS//31DEC02/LINUX/INSTALL/YPGNOT.LIS
  COMLNK : to -/usr/local/AIPS//31DEC02/Y/PGM/NOTST/WIPER.FOR
  INSTEP4 : Failure in $YPGNOT/...
  INSTEP4 : compiling/linking.
INSTEP4 : Dies of unnatural causes at Mon Dec 16 11:22:38 PST 2002

- In the file AIPPGM.LIS, I found the following entries:

  -/usr/local/AIPS//31DEC02/AIPS/PGM/AIPSB.FOR
  -/usr/local/AIPS//31DEC02/AIPS/PGM/AIPSC.FOR
  -/usr/local/AIPS//31DEC02/AIPS/PGM/AIPS.FOR
  -/usr/local/AIPS//31DEC02/AIPS/PGM/AJAX.FOR
  -/usr/local/AIPS//31DEC02/AIPS/PGM/BATER.FOR
  -/usr/local/AIPS//31DEC02/AIPS/PGM/BSTRT1.FOR
  -/usr/local/AIPS//31DEC02/AIPS/PGM/DAIP.FOR
  -/usr/local/AIPS//31DEC02/AIPS/PGM/FILAI2.FOR
  -/usr/local/AIPS//31DEC02/AIPS/PGM/FILAIP.FOR
  -/usr/local/AIPS//31DEC02/AIPS/PGM/FILINI.FOR
  -/usr/local/AIPS//31DEC02/AIPS/PGM/GRIPR.FOR
  -/usr/local/AIPS//31DEC02/AIPS/PGM/POPSGN.FOR
  -/usr/local/AIPS//31DEC02/AIPS/PGM/QMNGR.FOR
  -/usr/local/AIPS//31DEC02/AIPS/PGM/RECAT.FOR
  -/usr/local/AIPS//31DEC02/AIPS/PGM/SETSP.FOR
  -/usr/local/AIPS//31DEC02/AIPS/PGM/SETTVP.FOR
