[daip] pc suse linux 7.0 aips tv

hallo to charlottesville,
i have installed aips on a pc running suse linux 7.0.
after setting the environment variables, starting aips from an 
x-terminal window using

aips TV:local

results in the following screen output:

START_AIPS: Will use or start first available Unix Socket based TV

START_AIPS:  - system name , AIPS type

   Tape 2 is REMOTE

right after the line:
UNIXSERVERS: Start XAS1 on l1, DISPLAY :0.0
i get a sytem message stating

/user/aips/31DEC01/SYSTEM/UNIX/UNIXSERVERS: ./XAS: Access denied
(
or since it's a german version of linux: keine Berechtigung)

the system starts uo a message server window and a tel server window, but no tv.
i tried to find a file teh subdirectory /UNIXSERVERS. it does not exist.

any help would be graetly appreciated.
