Hi Robert,

Just to add something to what Leonia's message.  I noticed
you have RH 7.1, the compiler that comes with 7.1 does not
optimize AIPS correctly so you have to use an older compiler
to compile AIPS.  Did you do this?  See the yellow box on
the right on the AIPS web page: http://www.cv.nrao.edu/aips/
for further info and instructions.

Also, if that is not the problem, is it correct that you can
use FITLD to save that file to a disk but not to tape?
