[daip] problem running

I'm a student at Thomas Jefferson High School.  I successfully installed
the AIPS program, but now the program is having problems accessing
files.  When I attemted startAIPS, I got two terminals followed by
graphical interphase but then everything stopped and the program
terminated.  Everything I attempt to do displays an error message.  How
can I fix this problem?  Thank you for your help!!
