[daip] Midnight job COMLNK error

Hi,
The last couple of midnight jobs have brought me two problems.
Thanks in advance for your help with these.

1) This is probably trivial, but I don't see an obvious solution:

AIPS master (SUL) = ella
AIPS master (SOL) = monk, NFS copying from ella

The COMLNK worked fine for ella, but failed on monk - now I move to the
correct directory, run COMLNK PBEAM, and get the exact same failure.

What file should I be looking for, and why did it go missing?


2) Additionally, I received an alert to rebuild XAS:

 The UPDATE job has detected changes to XAS.SHR
 for version 31DEC01 on monk at Sat Jun  9 06:16:18 EDT 2001.
 Please rebuild it as soon as possible.

How should I rebuild it? The ancient 15APR99 AIPS install guide mentions
INSTEP1, and the old INSTEP1 script has a whole section devoted to
UNSHR'ing XAS and building it. Should I copy that section to a script
and run it? Or is there a simple "make XAS" type command?
