Debbie,

Well, the correlator people don't necessarily care if what
they send you is "easy" to reduce. I am assuming that they
didn't want to recorrelate your calibrator sources every time
they correlated at a different position for the target source,
which is the only way which they could have sent you 3 files
with all the sources.

There is a task MATCH which will fix SU etc tables, but
unfortunately it is only available in a later version of
AIPS than you are using. We (of course) always recommend
people update to a newer version but I understand if you don't
want to take the time. That means, however, that you will
have to go the DBCON route. The other possibility is to edit
tables and change the source numbers using TABED or TBOUT/TBIN,
but editing tables could be even more painful than using
UVCOP/DBCON.

BTW, you don't need calibration transfer to get a PC table.
You can load a PC table from the same *cal.vlba file where
you got the Tsys info. When you run VLOG you get a *.PCAL
file which you can load with PCLOD.

Just for my own information (I do phase referencing all the
time but have never tried this "hydrid" method), how bright
is source A?

Cheers,

Amy
