The /etc/services and /etc/system must be modified on any machine
that is to run AIPS and/or its display daemons.

It would appear that there is not ssh connectivity
(passwordless) between the machines in these accounts. Try starting
the TV on the machine in front of you (starscream) by saying aips to
an xterm running on starscream. Then on lai250n when you start aips
say

            aips tv=starscream tvok

     where is LAI250?

There are almost too many questions to ask here:

1. What are the contents of $NET0?

2. What are the contents of the files below $NET0?

   Try
       cd $NET0
       ls -laF
       ls -laF */*

This will show me if the files that are supposed to be there actually
are. It will also show permissions and ownership.

3. What are your and the aipsmngr's
       groups

4. Try
     ssh <hostname> ls
where <hostname> is the host you are not on at the moment.

5. What is the contents of DADEVS.LIST (in $NET0).
