[daip] Install Problems

Hello, I'm currently installing AIPS 31DEC00 on a Linux machine at PSU
berks campus.  

During the install, at INSTEP4, I get this error
/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -ltermcap
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
LINK      : Status from /usr/bin/g77 is 1
LINK      : Link of    /usr/AIPS/31DEC00/LINUX/PREP/SETTVP.o
LINK      : dies from wimpy compiler
LINK      : Dies of unnatural causes.
COMLNK    : Link failed!

The machine is a pII 450 with 128mb of ram and plenty of HD space.
The compiler info is:
[root at astro INSTALL]# g++ -v
Reading specs from /usr/lib/gcc-lib/i386-redhat-linux/2.96/specs
gcc version 2.96 20000731 (Red Hat Linux 7.0)
[root at astro INSTALL]# gcc -v

[root at astro INSTALL]# ld -v
GNU ld version 2.10.90 (with BFD 2.10.0.18)

I get the same error installing 31DEC01 also, I'm guessing its something
silly that I'm messing up, have you ever come across this before,
