[daip] UVLOD problem

hi aips friends,

i am having trouble reading a file into AIPS with UVLOD.
the file was created as a disk FITS file by AIPS at Yale with FITTP,
then a tar file was written to dat tape with tar -cvf,
then the tape was read here in chile with tar -xvf.
appeared to successfully create a disk FITS file,
but AIPS UVLOD could not read it due to
RECORD LENGTH   1600 INCONSISTENT WITH BLOCK SIZE  2880

any hints?
