Tell me about the operating system - what version of what.  Also the
compiler - which are you using and where did you put it?

This set of messages is reminiscent of ones from someone using RedHat
7.0 who replaced the system compiler 2.96 in /OPT/bin with the 2.95
compiler.

Our advice to her was to install RedHat 7.1, install the 2.95 compiler
somewhere other than /opt/bin, and to make sure that lockd and statd
are running.  I have not heard back yet.
