Nice images!

HGEOM will work if you set IMSIZE=0 or exactly that of the 2nd image
(or larger).  OHGEO does not do the right thing in several ways
(changes the frequency too!) even when one does this.  The explain
file for HGEOM states that for IMSIZE < 2nd image the numeric center
is used - a decision I want to think about.  It might be better to
adopt a ref pixel related to the 2nd image even if not the same value
- but say the same proportion.  In the HGEOM you ran the output was
1024x1024 which is less in the Y axis than 1023x1025, the size of your
6cm image.

There's work to do, but HGEOM properly steered should work.
