      One choice would be to alter the coordinates so all are called
RR - this would be a bigger data set and would not allow Formal I and
V polarization.  For regular imaging it would not be much different.

DBCON is able to combine a single-pol data set with a dual-pol data
set.  You could concat 1 of these to some other data with 2
polarizations, then UVCOP keeping only the desired data.  Then concat
the rest.  This data set would be even longer than the one in which
you lied about Stokes....  You really want a merge that puts the RR
and LL back together again - good luck.

There is VBGLU, but I do not know if that will help.  It might glue
together the 2 RR and the 2 LL files however...
