Dear DAIP,
first, kudos for KRING's inputs: Ketan's approach of making them more
readable is really a big help. SOLTYPE, SOLMODE, and OPCODE are now all
readily understandable, and that's a huge improvement over FRING. Also it
will be very nice to have ZRAT etc. as options in KRING, to avoid forcing
users to create yet more SN tables and run yet another arcane program
(CLCOR/ZRAT).
Now, the bug report (sorry). OPCODE='ZRAT" in the 31DEC99 version of KRING
does not work, at least not on ohsumi (SGI machine in Socorro).
* ZRAT is supposed to zero all the rates but leave the delays/phases of
the resulting SN table intact.
* In fact, it zeroes the *RCP* rates for all IFs, but leaves the LCP rates
unchanged; and zeroes the *LCP* delays for all IFs, but leaves the RCP
delays unchanged.
I assume this is a pretty trivial bug, and obviously I can work around it
with CLCOR. But it would be nice to have KRING work.

2. KRING
* trying to do a "manaul phase cal" -- PCCOR has taken care of the VLBA
antennas for the most part, but the VLA (antenna 10) still has to be fixed
up.
* run on a short scan involving all antennas on 3C84 (J0319+4130), which is
about 20 Jy at this frequency.
* First I run KRING without ZRAT, creating SN/5; then KRING with ZRAT,
creating SN/6. Inputs & outputs are given at the end of this message
(too huge to put here!). Basically both runs of KRING give the same
output, even with PRTLEV=2, so KRING is definitely solving for
everything (as it ought to) both times.
* LISTR/GAIN on resulting SN tables gives the following:
