The good news is that RedHat 7.1 solves a bunch of Linux system level
issues.

The bad news is that the bugs seen in the g77 compiler in RedHat 7.0
are present in RedHat 7.1  The version of g77 in use is:

The symptoms are that optimised code does not work correctly.  Known
to fail are

    TVFLG - infinite loop in $APLNOT/GRIDTB
    AIPS verb REBOX - failure in $YSUB/GRBOXS
    IMAGR - fails to do Cleaning right

Compiling GRIDTB and GRBOXS with NOOPT solves the first two. These are
not important so NOOPT is ok.  But IMAGR requires all the optimization
it can get.  There may be lots more problems, little has been tested.
