15OCT96 AIPS now available

The 15OCT96 release is now available.  You may obtain it via ANONYMOUS ftp:

	aips.nrao.edu:/aips/15OCT96.tar.gz  (GNU zipped, 21.7 Megabytes)
or	aips.nrao.edu:/aips/15OCT96.tar.Z   (Compressed, 30.9 Megabytes)

Be sure to get and read the notices in files /aips/README and
/aips/15OCT96/README, and the /aips/INSTALL.PS Installation Summary,
before starting any installation.

Please note that there may shortly be patches posted on this mailing list
(bananas) or newsgroup (alt.sci.astro.aips) and on our web site:

or via anonymous ftp:

Additional details about this release will be available in the 15OCT96

placed online both via the web and via anonymous ftp on aips.nrao.edu (in
/pub/aips/TEXT/PUBL/LET96D.PS).  For this and additional details, see the

A reminder: AIPS is now covered by the GNU General Public License.  In
short, you can freely redistribute it, but you cannot sell it.  See the
