flights to several European destinations from/to Edinburgh via
Amsterdam-Schiphol. It is always worth checking the offers directly on their
website, because the price there can be lower than the price which shows up
on some travel websites.
Finally Ryanair (www.ryanair.com), another European low-cost carrier, has
services from several European airports to Glasgow-Prestwick
(www.gpia.co.uk), a former freight airport about 50 km south of Glasgow city
centre. Prestwick has its own railway station and travel time to Edinburgh
is about 2 hours; one has to change stations in Glasgow. Scotrail offers a
50 percent discount for Ryanair-customers for their travel from Prestwick to
every destination in Scotland. Please refer to the airport website for more
information about this offer.
4. FEES AND SUPPORT
In keeping with the spirit of an informal workshop, there will be no
registration fee, nor will we have any means to offer financial assistance
to the participants.
