31DEC02 has been frozen for a week or so. We have now turned off the
cron job that nightly makes a new tar ball and a new timestamp file.
MNJs run on 31DEC02 after this point will --- after 1 job run in 2003
--- issue error messages complaing about wrong dates. This is because
the timestamp file will no longer change. When this happens, you
should turn off your 31DEC02 MNJs.

Unfortunately cvs is too smart to allow 31DEC02 simply to be renamed
into 31DEC03. Therefore you will need to do a new intallation to get
31DEC03. It's tar ball is now being updated nightly along with the
cvs information, timestamp file, et al. The script install.pl works
very well indeed when installing 31DEC03 as TST on a system already
running 31DEC02. You should edit ~/.AIPSRC to fix the one reference
to 31DEC02 to refer to 31DEC03 and delete the two lines about
DOWNLOADED and UNPACKED. See
     http://www.aoc.nrao.edu/aips
for information, including the (color!) 31DEC02 AIPSLetter, the
dec03.html instruction page, the install.pl instructions, etc.

Happy New Year!
