Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
>From Dr. Lo: On December 8 President Bush signed the Omnibus
Appropriations Act of FY 2005, containing funding for a variety of
agencies including the National Science Foundation (NSF). FY 2005
funding for NSF is lower than requested, with funding in Mathematical
and Physical Sciences reduced by 1.6% from the FY2004 level (see the
report at http://www.aaas.org/spp/rd/nsf05c.htm). ALMA construction is
funded at the expected $49.67M level.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Adrian Russell is the father to a new baby girl--congratulations, Adrian!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Stacy Oliver will be leaving ALMA at the end of the year. Thanks for
all the work you have done to build almaedm, Stacy, and best wishes!
As of 3 January, the EDM document specialist role with be covered by our
European colleagues, with Nathalie and Elena taking over the administration
of the system as they can best fit it in among other tasks. Eventually,
EDM responsibilities will migrate to Chile.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Congratulations to Kevin Long, who will migrate to Chile in early February
to work with the EDM and PMCS systems.
