Some snippets of possible interest:

A new call for proposals for the four month period MAR 1 - JUN 30 will be
issued shortly with a response deadline of about FEB 5, 2004 (check
SMA website for specific instructions). The eligibility rules will be
the same for this period as the last, except that U. Hawaii will get
its full share of 15 percent of the available science time. Proposals from
astronomers outside the experienced core of SMA users at SAO and ASIAA
are encouraged but will need collaborators from this group.

Mark Gurwell pointed out that the Galilean moons make good absolute
flux calibrators (see Test Log Entry 6398).

An updated organization chart for the SMA project (as of OCT 6, 2003) can
be found on the SMA website. The project currently has a staff of 59 with 56.0
FTEs, plus a few more part-time CE employees.
