WEEKLY CALENDAR OF THE SUBMILLIMETER ARRAY PROJECT

Testing.

A track of data of about 5 hour duration with antennas 2, 3, 4, and 5 on
CRL2688 was acquired on SEP 18 at 345 GHz. Unfortunately the opacity was about
0.8 (i.e., 0.2 at 230 GHz). Nonetheless it was possible to make a full set
of (frequency/velocity) channel maps of the CO emission. These maps clearly
show the bipolar outflow, the peculiar absorption feature at -50 km/s and
some extended structures previously detected at 230 GHz with the IRAM array
by Cox et al (A & A 353, L25, 2000). These results increase the confidence
level in our instrument.
