Agenda

--------

MAC meeting -- Wootten
We are waiting for the report from the MAC. This should be available
before the MOC meeting in December. At the MAC meeting, Napier
presented a plan for slippage of the antenna schedule. From the DH minutes:
Antenna Schedule
----------------

Napier stated that the antenna schedule will be slipping approximately
two months. This will allow time for the Europeans to become
involved. The goal is for both the U.S. and Europeans to procure a
design and possibly a prototype antenna. The U.S. will definitely
produce a prototype antenna, however, the Europeans may not have
enough money.

We will be changing the Issuing of the RFP from early January to late
March. This will put the CDR for the antenna in Mid-March. Even with
this slip in schedule, we are concentrating on keeping the arrival of
the prototype antenna on schedule. This will require vendors to make
a tighter schedule; they have said they could do it.

At this point, we are willing to work with the European partners for
the next two months, but we are not willing to redo our science goals
and specifications. If after the end of the two months, they are not
ready to proceed, we will go ahead with our plans. We will continue
working on our RFP so they can see exactly where we are. Possible
meeting with Europeans in January to come work with us on the RFP.

What are the impacts on other systems in the Project?
        1) work on metrology system cannot begin until specific items
on the antenna design have been completed.
        2) the Apex and transporter also need to be looked at.

Please review these decisions and we will discuss this at the next
DH meeting.

Personnel Evaluation Process
------------------

Brown and Napier (with the help of Petty) have decided that each site
will continue to evaluate employees in accordance with their local
site's policy. As extraordinary cases evolve, Napier will handle them
on a case by case basis.

Travel and Planning for PDR
---------------------------

All MMA members will be required to let White know of their travel
(vacation) plans. This information will be kept on a confidential
page only available to MMA members.

Project Book
------------
Emerson released the official revised version on Friday,
27November.

The latest version of the MMA Project Book has now been transferred to the
standard area; it is labelled Version 2.0, & dated 1998-December-01.
The Project Book link from the MMA main page goes straight to this
version, whose URL is: http://www.tuc.nrao.edu/~demerson/project_book/ .
At the top of the Table of Contents there is a now a link to earlier,
archived versions of the book.

Standard Talk -- Wootten
-------------

Bob had some comments. I'm working on a star formation supplement to the
lone transparency we have. He suggests augmenting V23 with better hi-z
illustrations Candidates? He would also like images of the NRAO
container, and the upper right and lower left photos from the site selection
document. I presume Pat has these. Other discussion?
