[Gb-ccb] Phase locking 10 MHz reference with analog input

Martin,

Earlier this morning Brian mentioned that you thought it would be useful to 
phase lock the 10 MHz reference and the analog input signal.  This is 
possible and fairly straightforward with the available equipment.  The 15 
MHz signal generator (Agilent 33120A) has an external reference 10 MHz 
input capability (on the rear panel).  The newer Agilent 33220A does not 
have such an input.  So the way to set it up is


                            ----Agilent 33120A----   ----CCB----
                          -> Ext Ref   Sig. Out  ->  Analog In
Agilent
33220A -> Power Splitter

                          ------------------------>  10 MHz ref

The Ext Ref input is very forgiving, accepting anything from -10 dbm to +15 
dbm.
