But what about
NAXIS = 4
NAXIS1 = 1024
NAXIS2 = 1024
NAXIS3 = 1
NAXIS4 = 1
?
This is the same bone of confusion that brought WCSAXES into the WCS
papers.
This is really a 2-d image, and to be unable to display it is to
deprive a FITS audience from viewing many files that conform to
suggestions in the original FITS paper.
