Thanks to the efforts of Richard van Niewenhoven, the nom.tam Java FITS
library is now available through GitHub at
   https://github.com/nom-tam-fits
We hope this will make it easy for interested parties to contribute to
this code or to specialize it to their own needs. Regular distributions
will still be made at
   http://heasarc.gsfc.nasa.gov/docs/heasarc/fits/java/v1.0
but if you want the absolute latest changes, GitHub will be the place to
go.

In the first release in this new environment, Ritchie has added a set of
~1000 enumerations for various standard and conventional FITS header
keywords to the library. You can not only get some key characteristics
of the keyword, you can also find where the keyword is defined.

If you are interested, please feel free to get involved.

     Regards,
     Tom McGlynn
